Wow, I did not expect that. Are you sure that the binary storage is the limitation and not the database? Can you share more details from Aurea?
We have created a backup system for binaries and videos on top of the rest api, so that you could delete older files with another script and have a backup on a separate archive server. So you can restore from this system if a user request an older file.
Delete document history could also be an option, but should also be clearly communicated to users so that we do not flood you with service requests. Users will quickly see on active documents that the versions are missing.
We were told it's related to a limitation in the architecture of Jive Cloud (Legacy 2016.x). Rich Rans might be able to tell you more about it.
Jens, It sounds like you guys are really prepared with that backup script/system.
Aurea PS is helping us delete document history. We have tested in our qual environment and hoping to run prod soon. As you say user-communication will be critical when running this.
